Mirth Me

A seriousness settled in for the past month or so. It's been so long since I've cachinnated.




Little giggles here and there, sweet, shallow, polite.  Life is full of beauty and wonder, but lacking amusement.

After yoga class at the apartment one of the students brought attention to the poster on the wall.


We discussed who, what, and if this is a "picture of good health." Scanning the human head I was drawn to mirthfulness.

Mirthfulness (n): A mood characterized by high spirits and amusement and often accompanied by laughter. 

My spirits are high and the laughter hides. 


Wanting to learn more about this mirthfulness, I found this book: 


Along with House of Mirth


This should keep me amused while my astral lover makes himself known in real life and whisks me off to Switzerland.


In the meantime, I'll be sitting in my own mirth.

    This is lovely! Gosh that poster is so peculiar. Some of those other words are pretty out-dated health terminology and religious uses, apparently. A vintage brain indeed!
    What a wonderful definition of mirthfulness. It seems to capture god presence in a sentence. Like the giddy ones who are able to pass through and keep eternal smile. And i believe you called upon amusement in class that night? :)
    The other words were kinda weird... outdated metaphysical health terminology and religious stuff. Came across writtings by A.S. Raleigh that were kinda neat tho. And so is:
    Alimentiveness
    Al`i*men"tive*ness\, n. The instinct or faculty of appetite for food.
    Yep.

My plans for the Victorian District excursion were postponed due to rain, along with the puppet show. There is always next week. It all worked out for the best. I was itching for some good vegetarian food and found this little place on the 6 th St called Amrosia Living Foods Cafe . It has wifi and I was in the mood to write and eat. Only one of those happened. The place was small and friendly. I asked to sit by an outlet and server told me a last minute presentation was about to happen and the outlet would be in use. I walked to the back of the restaurant and there I was talked into the getting the raw special: beet ravioli. Which was amazingly delicious and filling. Followed by raw baklava for desert. All the food served is gluten free. After finishing my meal I wasn't ready to leave so I asked what the presentation was about. Woke up with a taste of nostalgia. I haven't missed my mom in more than a while. It felt good to remember her. As I placed my amethyst earrings in their holes, I sighed a loud, "God I miss you Terri." To work at the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art is to be in a constant state of nostalgia. Not only from the stone sculptures of Chinese Dynasties, but also my grandfathers essence that haunts the place with his original office and library still intact. When I sit up front greeting guests and doing research, I yearn to hear grandpa Joe's voice call me into his office and give me something to do. Never met the man. Only see him every week in a stone portrait custom made in Florence, Italy as a tribute to his passing. The afternoon lingered. A woman came in. Platonic: Hmm.....

Despues de my afternoon of autism I met up with this guy Sean, whom I met off the " Platonic " section on craigslist. I had posted an ad titled : "Victorian District and Puppets," and included an emo picture of myself. I was curious as to who would actually respond to this. He was the only one. Since it was raining we decided to meet up around 6pm downtown. I wasn't too nervous about meeting this guy (Based on his picture I figured I could take him and I always carry a knife with me). We walked around a bit and after chatting around the block, decided we could tolerate each other enough to eat dinner together. He just moved to Austin from Chicago area and scored some sweet job. After dinner he took me up to his office to show me the view (It was cool I wouldn't have gone if I didn't feel safe).
